Step 2: Analyze Traffic
SimilarWeb will come up with your competitor’s traffic analysis. The free version is just about good because it shows top 5 sites from where they receive traffic.
Step 3: Open the Traffic Source and Look For the Ad
In the screenshot below, you can see the competitor Ad. Now, you know that your competitor is advertising on a site with a specific type of Ad. Which means that the strategy is working for them. Keep this banner Ad in your reference.
Step 4: Click on the banner and visit the landing page.
Look at the landing page and identify specific elements. This landing must be working for them. Keep it in your reference.
Step 5: Model the banner Ad and Landing Page
Now, it’s time for you to create a similar banner Ad and Landing page. Model your banner design and Landing page on similar lines. Remember, I am not asking you to copy. Instead of copying, take what’s working and model it with your own headline and image.

Step 6: Buy Ad Space in the Website
This one is pretty easy. Contact the website advertiser and buy the Ad space on the website where your competitor has advertised.
